ISO20121: The Sustainability Standard for the Events Industry

The ISO 20121 standard for sustainable event management systems is the only truly relevant sustainability standard for companies in the events industry. In this workshop, you will learn what it has to offer and how it can be implemented.

Workshop Description:

Your company is committed to sustainability and sees it as a crucial component of a successful organization. Therefore, you want to further embed sustainability within your company and communicate it legitimately to the outside world. Then ISO20121: Sustainable Event Management Systems might be the right standard for you. Join our workshop and learn what this internationally recognized norm has to offer!

At Acting Responsibly AG, we specialize in sustainable event management. We assist many companies and event organizers in developing and implementing sustainability strategies. Our partners include ExpoEvent Swiss LiveCom Association, MCH Group AG, and 3-D-ART AG. We base our work on internationally recognized standards, foremost among them the ISO 20121 standard, specifically developed for the events sector and adaptable to the needs of various companies. Major event organizers like the Olympic Games can use it, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises involved in events, whether as caterers, technicians, entertainers, suppliers, etc. In 2023, the ISO 20121 standard underwent revision, and we were involved as the Swiss representation. We chaired the working group on conformity assessment. The revised standard will be published this year, just in time for the 2024 Olympic Summer Games in Paris, which have introduced the standard as part of their sustainability strategy. We look forward to introducing you to this standard, which we believe will become the leading sustainability standard in the events industry.
