The Re’ Summit will be addressing all issues relating to climate, energy, corporate responsibility and sustainable procurement as part of the Sustainability Days on March 28-29, 2023.
The persistent high temperatures and droughts in June, July and August 2022 have once again highlighted the alarming effects of climate change – water levels are too low, water temperatures are too high and there is an increased risk of forest fires. Switzerland needs to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050 to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. There are already a lot of good strategies for dealing with climate change. But they are often restricted to specific areas and a systematic and holistic approach is lacking.
Shaping economic progress responsibly
The Re’ Summit, which is being held in Basel under the motto “Resources, Reinventions, Renewables” on March 28-29, 2023, will not only be addressing themes related to climate protection, but also issues surrounding energy, corporate responsibility and sustainable procurement. The trade fair and the coinciding congress, organised by the exhibition company MCH Group, are therefore the ideal meeting place for political, academic, administrative and economic decision-makers with a sustainability agenda in Switzerland.
More than 50 exhibitors and an equivalent number of speakers are expected alongside 500 visitors. The exhibition will see companies introduce their latest sustainability solutions at the event’s central communication hub. The congress will provide insights into current research, best practice and sustainable technologies. The attendees will include Swiss companies, cantons, cities and municipalities, as well as universities and international organisations. The first day will culminate in a dinner and networking event, which will allow guests to connect in a relaxed environment.
Current sustainability themes in focus
The climate theme will not only involve the showcasing of climate-friendly products and services, but also address adaptations to prepare for environmental dangers and natural disasters. The energy theme will focus on renewable energy sources, as well as infrastructures and technologies. Corporate responsibility themes will include internal environmental management, communication and sustainable financing. Last but not least, the sustainable procurement theme will focus on corporate responsibility and supply chain management, among other things.
